A mirror in your house is an essential parts for a house owner to make up or even just staring its reflection. It is much needed whenever and can be placed in your bedroom or living room. And because its function, a mirror in your bedroom’s wall should be looks unique and not boring. A stylish mirror frame that matches with theme of your room is one of the good home improvements.


Buying a suitable mirror frame with your room in furniture store is good, but actually you can make it by yourself. If you want to saving cost, have enough time and creativity; try to make a do-it-yourself project a mirror frame. It is not really difficult; you can make it by yourself with some preparation like wood saw, mirror mastic, measuring tape and miter box.

Firstly, buy a frame from craft store nearly your town. You can also choose the paint for your frame, which is can be suitable with paint color in your room. Secondly, starts to measure every side of the mirror. It is might be a bit difficult, because you cannot exactly have a perfect in top and bottom side. But make sure it’s miscalculation not more than one centimeter because it wills leaving a gap after the mirror is finished.

For a creative touch in your custom made mirror frame, firstly decide where the mirror is will be placed in any kind of room? For example if it will be in a classic theme in living room, try to give any ornate frame from wood material and monochrome colors. Decide will you make it thematic or no. The size of its mirror is needed to consider too. How large is your mirror? Large mirror often have large ornate frames. You have to improve your creativity for this step, because it can make a good combine between its texture and colors.

Thirdly, cut the frame the exact length of the bottom side. It is must be exactly same with the earlier measured. If you made a mistake for even a centimeter, it will be very noticeable. Step four, cut the mirror frame for a 45 degrees using the miter box for the bottom and top side. Last step, use mirror mastic to stick the frame in the mirror. That mirror mastic will take a bit of time to dry, so you may need two people for helping this step. Some people will help you to check its correct position. The important thing to remember is that it needs to feel comfortable and cozy with your home decor.
It will not easy to get a perfectly straight line for your mirror frame, but you can putty to fill in the gap and then repainted that portion of the frame. It will make people not able to notice the mistakes with the naked eye.
